My wife and I are attending the 2024 Big Ten Women’s Basketball Tournament at Target Center in Minneapolis. I highly recommend it, this is our second year attending, and surprised ourselves in how much we enjoyed it.
The Penn State women’s basketball team nickname is The Lady Lions, which is simpatico with Nittany Lions used by all other Penn State athletics….except the plural of lions is lionesses. Wouldn’t Nittany Lionesses be more correct?
The second, less relevant question is why the women’s basketball team is differently branded . I am not a marketing professional, but thought a basic marketing tenant is to avoid diluting the brand, which Lady Lions contradicts.
