Saw this in my neighborhood.
Since Radio Shack has been out-of-business since 2015, it almost feels like an invitation to break in. I know nothing about these systems, but apparently were great for do-it-yourself security….which, in the technical world, is something you avoid: don’t create your own security protocols or encryption algorithms, never assume security-through-obscurity is a thing, hire professionals to ensure you’re doing the right things to protect yourself (as best possible) against bad actors.
Plus, advances in recent years means these systems are out-of-date and the only way to replace the hardware is buying off of eBay. Hopefully my neighbor has upgraded but who knows….
