From Leyhah Fernandez' Wiki page:
She us studying at Indiana University East, which has a partnership with the Women's Tennis Association and the Women's Tennis Benefits Association that enables players to pursue online bachelor's degrees while competing in tournaments.
How cool and forward-thinking is that? The WTA is supporting their women by creating a program that allows players to prepare themselves for a post-tennis life. Whether their tennis career ended due to age, ability, health or motherhood, the WTA is providing the resources needed for a professional athlete to be successful in retirement (compared with post-retirement bankruptcy or worse). Thank you WTA!
And kudos for Fernandez taking advantage of this opportunity. May her career be long and fruitful, but if not other opportunities will present themselves!
