The Seamans Center is an ever-extending building for the University of Iowa‘s School of Engineering. I first saw this extension as I exited Old Capitol Town Center on the back side heading towards the Iowa River, and was captivated by this skyway/walkway/student handout that connected two parts of the building. I expect students are drawn to the well-lit open space with west-looking views towards the river, much more inviting than (what I expect) what the original 1905 building has to offer. A very inviting space.
