The Athletic, the online sports section for the New York Times, posted a long article about John Harbaugh‘s first thirty days as the coach of the New York Giants. The story begins with the lead-up to the actual hiring, which was perhaps more interesting:

Everyone has DocuSigned something, but, at least for me, it’s for fairly trivial things: I virtually signed an agreement for a temporary dumpster just last week. I probably have also signed employment agreements virtually, but nothing on this scale. Virtually signing a $100 million dollar contract? Wouldn’t you want a physical document signed in blood? My brother the lawyer says there are still judges whom insist on “wet” signatures on actual documents. Granted, I have never investigated the security measures implemented by DocuSign but am still surprised.
