Records, Records and More Records II

For those who read Records, Records and More Records, time to disclose whether my bulk purchase of records turned up any gems.

The answer is an unequivocal no. What did I find:

  • over 10% empty album covers or broken/damaged records;
  • almost 10% Christmas music albums;
  • almost 10% Country or Country Western albums;
  • almost 10% Beautiful Music albums;
  • a vast majority of 45s seemingly from jukeboxes, including many with their label, heavily used, damaged, scratched;
  • a decent amount of polka, square dance, barbershop quartet, and organ music;
  • some early 60s pop and mid-70s schmaltz;
  • and absolutely nothing eye-popping.

While I did find maybe 10 albums worth keeping and some 45s worth selling, this album was the coolest more interesting find:

My wife, on the other hand, was not surprised: she found nothing of interest on either of our trips, and that indeed is a rarity. Our garbage collector is going to know the scale of the failure over the next few weeks …
