The classic movie Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? topped the Independent‘s list in 20 movie romances that were actually completely toxic. Unsurprisingly, an excellent, dark movie staring a real-life couple who had their own relationship issues. What did surprise me was this blatant mistake:
Whaaa? It’s Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, you moron. Likely most adults under 40, unless movie buffs or cultural savants, may be unaware of whom these stars are, but inexcusable for journalists paid to get their facts correct. Unfathomable.
I originally read this Saturday at Keflavik while transferring to my flight home. Surprisingly, four days hence the article remains uncorrected, showing either how few people read the article or actually care.
