My wife and I spent a Sunday afternoon driving through western Wisconsin and ran across an ode to Hawkeyes in Barron. With the historical rivalry, animosity and even hatred between Hawkeye and Badger fans, I would have expect it to be vandalized somehow – didn’t even see red W sticker applied.
Admittedly, we Hawkeye fans likely overrate our own importance and the Badgers reserve their true disdain for the Gophers, their longtime football rivals (134 years and counting, one of the most played rivalry games). Regardless, I still expect a Hawkeye victory on October 11 in Mad-town!
