Legitimate Attempt at Inclusivity

It’s very obvious to those in technology – software, networking, hardware, etc. – that men, primarily white men, dominate the industry. Companies may claim to be inclusive, may make efforts to hire/promote women and non-whites, tie C-level bonuses to improvements in diversity, but the needle seems to moved almost imperceptibly . I’m attending Devoxx Belgium this week and there are definitely a preponderance of white men attending.

[The numbers will only get worse as more firms insist on full-time return-to-office.]

An interesting talk got me interested enough to look at DoubleVerify‘s job listings. A paragraph at the end caught my attention:

Kudos to DoubleVerify for this approach, one I hadn’t seen previously. If this small encouragement leads to more non-traditional applicants, great! One can only hope this truly moves the needly and diversifies the all-too-common men’s clubs.
